'Drug Lady' of film industry’, names of actors handed over; Rinsi Mumtaz reveals crucial information

KOCHI: Some vital information has surfaced in the arrest of social media influencer Rinsi Mumtaz with MDMA in Kochi. The police have found that she has connections with top figures in the film industry. Her job was to deliver drugs to actors during film promotion events. She was known as the drug lady of the film industry.

The investigation team has received information that a huge quantity of drugs was distributed at shooting locations. Her chats with drug dealers have also emerged. Rinsi has given the names of the actors to whom drugs were handed over, to the police. She has also made transactions through cryptocurrency.

Rinsi of Feroke in Kozhikode is a popular YouTuber. She is well-known among youngsters of the Malayalam film industry. Rinsi was in charge of the promotions and other publicity activities of many films released recently. The police have found that if Rinsi was present on the sets and at promotional events, then there would be a flow of drugs.

Police said Rinsi spent Rs 10 lakh for the drug deal. A youth identified as Yasar Arafat, her associate was also arrested. Yasar operated the drug network while Rinsi used her social media presence as a cover to supply drugs to potential buyers. She was part of the cinema P R company Obscura Entertainment. Obscura disowned Rinsi after her arrest in the drug case.
