SHARJAH: Kollam native found hanging in Sharjah. Athulya Satheesh (30), a native of Koivila, Thevalakkara, was found dead in a flat in Rolla, Sharjah. The incident took place on Friday night. Her husband, Satheesh, an engineer in a construction company in Dubai, had gone to Ajman with his friends and returned at 4 am to find Athulya dead.

Relatives say that Sathish is a regular drinker and often physically abuses Atulya. The Sharjah police have previously received a complaint in this regard. Sathish, who has been in the UAE for years, brought Atulya here a year and a half ago.

The couple's only daughter, Aaradhika (10), lives in Kerala with Atulya's parents, Rajasekharan Pillai and Tulasibai. Her only sister, Akhila Gokul, lives near their flat in Sharjah. It is learnt that Atulya had told her sister about her husband's torture. The body will be brought back to India after the formalities in Sharjah.
