Police officer suspended for being drunk on duty during Amit Shah's Kerala visit

KOCHI: A police officer was suspended for reporting to duty under the influence of alcohol during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit. KAP Fifth Battalion Commandant S Suresh has been suspended in connection with the incident.

Amit Shah arrived in Kochi on August 21, and Suresh was found to be intoxicated on the same day. He was immediately removed from duty.

Suresh was in charge of security at the airport where Amit Shah’s flight arrived. Other officers, who noticed his unusual behaviour, removed him from the security duty and sent him for a medical examination.
