THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man who cheated two people by promising jobs in an oil company in Abu Dhabi and giving them fake visas has been arrested. The accused, Vince (39), a native of Thiruvananthapuram, was taken into custody by the Cherpu police.

Vince had convinced two young men that he could arrange jobs in an oil company in Abu Dhabi. He collected Rs 5.5 lakh from them and gave them fake visas. The victims were Girish, who runs a chips business in Palakkal, and his acquaintance, Prince.

When Girish did not receive his flight ticket to Abu Dhabi, he made inquiries and found out that the visa was fake. He then filed a complaint at the Cherpu police station. After a detailed investigation, the police team arrested the accused from Thiruvananthapuram, where he had been hiding.
