Kodumon Potty into final round; Megastar inching closer to yet another state film award

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: This year’s Kerala state film awards will be announced on October 31st. Ahead of the big announcement, a heated debate is ongoing on social media for the best actor award. Mammootty, Mohanlal, Asif Ali and Vijayaraghavan were in the fray for the awards in earlier stages. However, as per the latest report, only Mammootty and Asif Ali have made it to the final stages, taking the battle for the big prize even more intense.

38 films are under the consideration of the chief jury, Prakash Raj. It should be seen whether Mammootty will take home yet another prestigious state award for his sublime performance as Kodumon Potty in the horror-drama movie Bramayugam. Asif Ali is in contention for his commanding performance in the movie Level Cross. Kishkindha Kaandam and Rekhachithram.

If the jury panel under Prakash Raj completes watching the whole list of movies before the scheduled date, the award will be announced on the 31st as per the plan.
