India women's cricket team eyes history against South Africa in World Cup final

MUMBAI: In a break from the past, there is renewed hope that the Indian women’s cricket team will lift the ODI World Cup trophy this time. The final match will take place today at 3 p.m. at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, with South Africa as their rival.

India entered the final after defeating defending champions Australia, thanks to a brilliant century by Jemimah Rodrigues. South Africa earned their spot with captain Laura Wolvaardt’s stunning century against England.

3- This is India’s third Women’s ODI World Cup final. They lost to Australia in 2005 and England in 2017. For South Africa, this is their first-ever final appearance.
