Non-bailable case registered against Shanimol Usman

ALAPPUZHA: A non-bailable case has been registered against UDF candidate Shanimol Usman, the UDF candidate of Aroor by-polls. The case was registered against her for disrupting the construction work of Eramallur-Ezhupunna Road. The complaint was given to the SP by PWD Thuravur executive engineer. Following the complaint, the Aroor police registered the case.

The maintenance work of the road was disrupted by a team led by Shanimol on September 27 at 11 pm. The complaint alleged that they blocked the officers and did not permit them to work.

Meantime, Congress leader A A Shukkoor said Shanimol prevented the construction work done bypassing the electoral code of conduct. However, PWD officials said the work was done before the election was announced.
