Nitish Kumar turns 'Big Boss' in Bihar, JD (U) becomes largest single party, RJD loses steam

PATNA: Three hours after the counting of votes began in Bihar, the NDA is leading in 193 seats. The INDIA alliance is leading in 47 seats, the JSP in zero seats and others in three seats. The Congress, which contested in 60 seats, has managed to advance in only seven seats. Tejashwi Yadav is leading in Raghopur. The INDIA alliance is advancing on the strength of the RJD.


According to latest reports, JDU leader Anant Kumar Singh, who was arrested in the murder of a Jansuraj worker, is leading in the Mokama constituency.

As the first round of counting of votes is over, BJP candidate Chhoti Kumari is leading by 974 votes in Chapra. RJD’s Shatrughnan Yadav (Kesari Lal Yadav) is behind.

Preparations are underway for a grand victory celebration at the BJP's Patna office.


If the NDA wins, Nitish Kumar will become the chief minister for the fifth time. Nitish Kumar first became the chief minister of Bihar in 2005. If he wins this time too, he will become one of the most influential leaders with the longest service.
