NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is often labelled as the politician virtuoso of contemporary India. Even his critics would have no qualms admitting this. The Prime Minister, who is unerring in his politics, also carries a similar attitude when it comes to immaculate dressing. PM Modi first courted controversy for his luxury suit, which he wore during a meeting with then-US President Barack Obama. The monogrammed suit even entered the Guinness World Records as 'the most expensive suit sold at auction'.

The prime minister, who takes extra care to look sharp and elegant, has sparked debate on social media over the watch he has been wearing to recent public events.

PM Narendra Modi has switched to Roman Baagh by Jaipur Watch Company. This watch, with its many features, is priced at Rs 60,000. The special feature includes a 1947 one-rupee coin attached to the dial of the watch. The one-rupee coin is the last coin minted during British rule. It also has the image of a tiger walking. The watch makers say that this design indicates the change in India after independence.

Gaurav Mehta is the founder of Jaipur Watch Company. Jaipur Watch Company is known for making expensive watches modelled after unique Indian souvenirs, coins and traditional motifs. The likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Ed Sheeran and Raftaar are often seen wearing watches made by India’s ingenious watch company.
