Youngster dies of electrocution from 11 kV line in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Venkatesh (28), a native of Karamana Nedumcaud, who was engaged in welding work, died of electrocution from an 11 kV line. The accident occurred at around 1.30 pm on Tuesday while he was involved in work at a beauty parlour near Manchadi School on the Malayinkeezhu-Manchadi road. Welding work was underway on the second floor of a building owned by a private individual. While lifting a high wire, Venkatesh hit an 11 kV line passing overhead.

Venkatesh was thrown to the floor in the impact. He was rushed to a private hospital in Kattakada, but was declared dead. The body was shifted to the Medical College Hospital morgue.
