COLORADO: A London court has ordered that a US woman, who fled to the UK after allegedly murdering her own children, be extradited to the United States. According to investigators, Colorado resident Kimberlee Singler killed two of her children by administering drugs and also injured a third. She fled to the UK following the incident but was eventually taken into custody there.
In court, Singler argued that being extradited to Colorado, where a first-degree murder conviction carries life imprisonment without parole, would violate European human rights laws. However, the court rejected this argument, stating that extradition had been approved in similar cases.
The incident took place in December 2023. On December 19, Singler told police that a burglary had occurred at their home in Colorado Springs. When officers arrived, they found her nine-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son dead. Singler and her 11-year-old daughter were found injured. She initially convinced police that intruders had killed the children during a break-in.
However, further investigation revealed that Singler had drugged and killed the two children herself and had injured the third. On December 26, 2023, police filed an arrest warrant for her. She was arrested on December 30 while hiding in Kensington, London.
