THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is good news for international travellers, as an airline has expanded its operations. Flights from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to Malaysia have now been increased. As per the updated schedule, services will be available on five days of the week. These flights will operate between Thiruvananthapuram and Kuala Lumpur. The offer of affordable ticket rates is also expected to benefit passengers.
Since Kuala Lumpur offers convenient connections to countries like Australia and New Zealand, officials expect the new services to greatly benefit more Malayali passengers. The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport authorities announced via an X post that daily services from Thiruvananthapuram to Malaysia will begin from December 2. A total of 11 aircraft will operate these routes- four from AirAsia and seven from Malaysia Airlines.
When the winter schedule was announced earlier, the number of flights operating from Thiruvananthapuram had already increased. The new service period is from October 26, 2025, to March 28, 2026. A total of 732 flights will operate during this schedule. Previously, 600 additional flights were added for the summer travel season. The increase is due to rising demand for domestic and international air travel.
During the winter season, 732 weekly flights will operate from Thiruvananthapuram Airport- 22% more than the summer schedule. New services will operate to Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru, and Trichy. Domestic services to major cities such as Kannur, Kochi, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai have also been improved. Authorities expect an overall 9% growth for the airport through these new services.
