Car catches fire in Palakkad, one person dies; suicide suspected

PALAKKAD: In a tragic incident, a person died after a car caught fire in Palakkad. The incident happened today at around 4 pm near Arimani Estate on the Dhoni–Mundur Road in Palakkad. A passerby was the first to notice the car on fire. He informed local people and the fire and rescue services. The car was completely burned.

The person inside the car is yet to be identified. The preliminary conclusion is that it may be a suicide. Forensic experts have reached the spot. It is said that the car owner had come to a petrol pump and bought petrol earlier.
