Now, her teammate Jemimah Rodrigues has revealed the story of the interesting threat that took place within the team behind that dance. When the Indian players appeared as guests on 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', they shared the details of their World Cup victory celebrations.
'Harry Di (Harmanpreet) usually doesn't listen to us anyway, but when Smriti says it, it's special. Smriti's ultimatum was that she would not speak for the rest of her life if she didn't dance Bhangra while lifting the trophy. So, the captain had to agree,' said Jemimah with a laugh.
The players also opened up about the celebrations that took place in the stadium and hotel after the title win. The team members did not sleep after the final victory. We celebrated till 3:30 am until the lights in the stadium went out. For the first time in their lives, all the team members joined in the celebration until dawn.
When asked who the biggest party girl in the team was, everyone pointed their fingers at star player Renuka Singh. Jemima jokingly added that Renuka only speaks in English when she is in a party mood.
