
KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has extended the stay on the arrest of MLA Rahul Mamkootathil in the rape case till January 21. Along with this, the survivor was also made a party in Rahul's anticipatory bail plea in the first rape case. The high court has granted two weeks' time to file a detailed reply via an affidavit. The court's action was after considering the survivor's request. The detailed arguments in the anticipatory bail plea will be heard on January 21. The court will take a decision on the anticipatory bail after considering the things mentioned in the affidavit.
Rahul approached the high court after the Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sessions Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea. The court had stayed Rahul's arrest in the case till today. The survivor has filed a complaint with the Thiruvananthapuram Cyber Police alleging that Rahul's followers and friends are constantly cyber-attacking her.
The other day, the survivor's husband had filed a complaint with the state police chief against Rahul MLA. His complaint said that Rahul was the reason for the failure of his family life that lasted only two months and that he had suffered great damages. Despite knowing that she was married, Rahul had an illegal relationship with his wife. The claim was that Rahul had tried to resolve the issues between him and his wife. However, there was no such move from his side. He came across negative reactions on social media, even questioning his sexual ability. It led to a mental breakdown. The survivor's husband also said in his complaint that the family's pride was also damaged.
