Sixth-class boy dies in fall from auto while attempting to save cat

MALAPPURAM: A student died after falling from an auto while trying to save a cat that jumped across the vehicle. The dead has been identified as Shadin (12), a native of Kalathinpadi. The accident happened last night in Pallipadi Chengara, Malappuram. The boy was rushed to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.

The accident happened when Shadin and his mother were returning in an autorickshaw after meeting his brother, who was studying elsewhere, when the accident occurred. The cat jumped across the auto. With this, the driver swerved to save the cat. In the meantime, the boy fell on the road and hit his head.

The body, which is kept in Manjeri Medical College will be handed over to his relatives after the postmortem. He will be laid to rest today itself. Shadin was a sixth-class boy of Pulloor School in Manjeri.
