PATHANAMTHITTA: Rahul Mamkootathil MLA, who was taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the third rape case, was brought to the Club Seven Hotel in Thiruvalla to collect evidence. The woman's statement is that she was sexually abused in this hotel.

The team are collecting evidence with Rahul based on her statement. The SIT left for Thiruvalla with Rahul from the AR camp at around 5.30 am. He will also be taken to Palakkad to collect evidence. The police have arranged tight security considering the possibility of protests by youth political groups amidst collecting evidence. Rahul will be questioned again in detail after this.

Rahul's bail plea will be considered day after tomorrow. The prosecution had informed the court that evidence collection needs to be conducted with Rahul in Palakkad, where the flat transaction mentioned in the woman's complaint took place. The Thiruvalla Magistrate Court gave Rahul in custody for three days.

Meantime, the police recovered Rahul’s phone yesterday. The phone was recovered from KPM Hotel in Palakkad. The police believe that this phone contains crucial information. Rahul was not willing to reveal the whereabouts of the laptop. The investigation team has made it clear that Rahul will be brought to Palakkad for evidence collection only after he reveals where his laptop is.
