Man, suspicious of wife, arrested for setting house on fire 

PATHANAMTHITTA: A man set his house on fire due to his suspicion of his wife’s infidelity. The incident happened early Friday morning at Vakayar Kollampadi. The suspect’s wife Rajani and his younger son sustained burn injuries. They are undergoing treatment at the taluk hospital. Rajani sustained 40% burns. The police have caught the suspect Siju, who escaped after setting the house on fire.

This was Rajini and Siju's second marriage. The two were living in a rented house after marriage. Hearing a sound, Rajani woke up and then saw fire spreading. However, Siju was missing. Sijo is a painter. Police said that he may have used thinner or petrol to set the house on fire. A portion of the house has been damaged in the fire. Police said that he set the house on fire following his suspicion towards his wife.
