Fire breaks out at workshop in Malappuram; 26 motorbikes completely destroyed

MALAPPURAM: Several motorbikes were destroyed after a fire broke out at a bike workshop in Malappuram. The incident took place at the workshop named Fly Wheels in Cherumukku. 26 motorbikes were completely gutted in the fire.

According to sources, the fire broke out at around 1 am on Sunday, shortly after the workshop staff had closed the shop and returned home. The damage is estimated at nearly Rs 40 lakh.

The fire also spread to a veterinary hospital near the workshop. Several medicines and records stored here were destroyed in the fire. Fire and rescue teams from Tanur and Tirur reached the spot and brought the fire under control by around 3 a.m.
