THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress Working Committee member Ramesh Chennithala said that the Union Budget is a complete disappointment. "The BJP was deceiving the people of Kerala by saying AIIMS and high-speed rail. Although there is an announcement in the budget that three Ayurveda institutes will be set up, there is no indication that Kerala will get even one of them. The Prime Minister visited Thiruvananthapuram and spoke eloquently about a developed India. However, after reviewing the budget, the question arises: Will Kerala be included in Modi's vision of a developed India?"

"Kerala has been neglected since the Modi government's first budget in 2014. As the elections approach, the Prime Minister and other BJP leaders will take to the streets of Kerala with roadshows. They will make some bold announcements. However, it will ultimately be as fleeting as a line drawn in water."

"Kerala should have been included atleast when high-speed rail was announced in seven states. Union Minister Suresh Gopi is constantly saying that AIIMS is in his pocket and can be given anytime. When the budget came, Kerala received nothing but absolute zero. There should be a strong public sentiment from the Keralite community against this gross neglect by the BJP government," Ramesh Chennithala added.
