LUCKNOW: More details have emerged in the suicide of three minor sisters in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The dead are Nishika (16), Prachi (14) and Pakhi (12), natives of Loni, Ghaziabad. They committed suicide by jumping from the 9th floor of the flat complex. More details behind the drastic decision was unraveled from the diary, which the sisters kept updated.
From the diary:
“How can you make us abandon Korea? Korea is our life. How can you make us abandon our life? You don't know how much we loved them. We now understand that Korea and K-pop are our life. We have never loved you as much as we loved Korean actors and K-pop groups.
You introduced her (Devu, another sister) to Bollywood, which we hated. We felt very bad about it. So we saw Devu as an enemy. We thus distanced from them. Even when you knew how much we loved Korea, you people tried to get us married to an Indian. We thus decided it was better to end our lives"
During the Covid period, the girls were addicted to a Korean task based game on mobile phones. The police believe that the last task from the game was to commit suicide. The names on the girls' social media accounts were also Korean. They gave the names Maria, Alisa, and Cindy. They had many followers. After the horrific deaths, their father Chetan Kumar deleted the accounts.
The family had a debt of around Rs 2 crore. Due to this, the girls had not been going to school for the last two years. Recently, Chetan Kumar sold the phones to pay the electricity bill. The police suspect this might have made things worse for the sisters who always relied on the device for playing Korean based games.
