MUMBAI: Hosts India are batting in their first match of the Twenty20 World Cup. USA captain Monank Patel won the toss and invited India to bat. Defending champions India are in excellent form. Captain Suryakumar Yadav shared some disappointing news for Malayali fans during the toss. Wicketkeeper Sanju Samson is not in the playing eleven. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah is also not playing in today's match.

The Indian team, which is set to defend its title, is in brilliant form. India has not lost a single T20 series since winning the World Cup in 2024. India was also the winner of the Asia Cup, which was held in the same format. India, which won the five-match series against New Zealand 4-1, had defeated a formidable South Africa in a warm-up match. The batting line-up's impressive form has made India dangerous.

India: Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Varun Chakravarthy

USA: Saiteja Mukkamalla, Andries Gous (wicketkeeper), Monank Patel (captain), Milind Kumar, Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Harmeet Singh, Shubham Ranjane, Mohammad Mohsin, Shadley van Schalkwyk, Saurabh Netravalkar, Ali Khan
