KANNUR: A baby viper was found stuck in the screen guard of a mobile phone. The incident took place at a mobile shop near Taliparamba Market Road in Kannur. The shop staff and customers were shocked to see the snake stuck in the glue of the screen guard.

The baby viper was spotted while changing the old screen guard of a phone that was given to the shop for repair. The employees immediately informed the Taliparamba Forest Department office. As instructed by the Forest Department, the snake catcher who arrived at the spot tried to release the snake from the glue using coconut oil, but was unsuccessful. The snake was brought to the Forest Department office along with the screen guard.

Later, after much effort, the snake was safely separated from the glue and released into the forest. The initial conclusion is that the snake may have accidentally gotten into the box where the screen guards are kept in the mobile shop. The employees are also not clear whether the snake was inside the phone or in the store's screen guard stock. The shop owner said that this is the first time he has seen a snake stuck in the glue of the screen guard and that it got stuck like this because it is a small snake.
