Ravi Nair sentenced to jail for circulating statement against Adani Group

GANDHINAGAR: Freelance journalist Ravi Nair has been sentenced to one year in prison in a criminal defamation case filed by the Adani Group. The Magistrate Court in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, delivered the verdict. The case was filed by Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL).

According to the complaint, Ravi Nair circulated false and defamatory statements on X (formerly Twitter) with the intention of damaging the reputation of the company and the Adani Group. Ravi is a freelance journalist who regularly writes for news websites such as The Wire, NewsClick and Janta Ka Reporter.
