NEW DELHI: India's win over the United States in the first match of the T20 World Cup came after a bit of struggle. India's opponent in the second match tomorrow will be Namibia at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Current indications are that India's super opener Abhishek Sharma will not be in the match. Abhishek did not come out for batting practice the other day. Meanwhile, Malayali player Sanju Samson, who did not play in the first match, spent several hours in batting practice with opener Ishan Kishan at the Delhi ground.

Abhishek Sharma was admitted to the hospital on Monday due to a stomach infection. In the first match against the United States, Abhishek stumbled for a golden duck. He did not even come out to the field. Sanju Samson fielded in place of Abhishek. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma conducted batting practice along with Sanju and Ishan Kishan. There are indications that Sanju has rectified his batting flaws and is feeling the confidence returning.

Sanju and Ishan Kishan are the first wicketkeepers in the World Cup squad. However, Ishan was included in the final XI in the first match. Bumrah has been rested for the next match as well. Washington Sundar is likely to play in the match against Namibia.
