THRISSUR: Panic spread after a patient who escaped from a mental health facility stabbed three people in Thrissur. Suraj (31), a Nepalese native brought from Aluva, escaped from the facility at around 1:30 am today. He first barged into a house in Kottapuram, where students of Chaitanya College were staying on rent. Suraj first stabbed the owner of the house, Murali, who tried to stop him.

The patient later reached Padinjarekotta. Here, Benny Wilson and Ajith, who tried to subdue the youth, were also stabbed. The locals and the police later subdued Suraj. The Aluva police took Suraj to a mental health centre the other day. Murali was admitted to Ashwani Hospital in Thrissur, and the other two to Jubilee Hospital. Suraj has been shifted to a mental health centre again.
