Plus one students who went swimming in sea go missing, one rescued

KOLLAM: Two members of a group of five plus one students who had gone for a swim in the sea in Paravur have gone missing. The incident took place at 2.45 pm yesterday in Pozhikkara, Paravur. The missing persons are Kannan (16), son of expatriate Jayaraj and Suja, living west of Thekkekavu temple in Ayathil, and S. Bibin Raj (16), son of Sulekha and Selvaraj, a printing press employee living at 65- Gandhinagar.

The two were accompanied by Rihan (16), Abu (16) and Arjun (16). Kannan, Bibin Raj and Abu were the ones who were caught in the strong waves. Hearing Rihan and Arjun's screams, the locals rushed to the spot and informed the fire force. Abu was rescued and taken to Paripally Medical College Hospital. Kannan and Bibin could not be found. The search for them is ongoing. Kannan is a Plus One student at Kadappakkad TKDM HSS. Bibin is a Plus One student at Ayathil VVVHSS.
