27 injured after school van falls into canal in capital city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A school van carrying 31 people overturned into a canal. 27 including the ayah sustained injuries. The ayah and a child are in the ICU and their condition is said to be stable. The van belonged to CSI UP School in Poovathoor. The van which was on its way to the school with children overturned into the canal from Mottakkavu Canal Bund Road in Kunnathukal at around 8:30 am Tuesday morning.

The children fell into the canal but the shallow depth saved them. The locals carried out the rescue operations. The injured were admitted to Karakonam Medical College. C K Hareendran MLA visited the injured at the hospital. The cause of the accident is unclear.
