Body of newborn found near Marine Drive in Kochi; probe ongoing

KOCHI: A newborn baby’s corpse was found in a lake near Marine Drive on Tuesday. The body washed ashore near Mazhavil Bridge at around 4 pm today. Two young women who arrived here found the body with the umbilical cord still attached. They immediately informed the nearby residents. Ernakulam Central Police arrived and took further action. A probe is ongoing to find how the corpse ended up in the lake and the culprits behind it.
