KOCHI: A plea has been submitted at the High Court against former PWD minister V.K. Ebrahimkunju. In the plea, it’s alleged that there was a scam in the footbridge construction in Manappuram. The plea requests a probe on the incident.

In the plea, it is alleged that the treasury suffered a loss of Rs 4.2 crores due to the construction. It is also said that the govt is delaying the actions to prosecute the former minister. The plea also requests the court to interfere. The court has sought an explanation from the HC.

V.K. Ebrahimkunju’s name was heard in Palarivattom Bridge irrelugarities as well. He has recently said to the media that it wasn’t wrong to give advance money to the contract company that constructed the bridge. He backed his comments by saying it was a normal practice to grant advance money to companies with a contract.
