NEW DELHI: CBSE exams scheduled for tomorrow in the Gulf region have been postponed. The decision is in the backdrop of the Iran conflict. The revised date will be announced later. It is not clear whether the remaining exams will also be postponed. The exams in the UAE, Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have been postponed.
Schools have been closed here following Iran's intensified attacks on American military bases in the Gulf countries. Classes have also been shifted online. Students and parents, including Malayalees, raised concerns about the situation as board exams were underway. With the exams being postponed, the worries have been temporarily alleviated.
Iran also launched missiles at the Bahraini capital, Manama, but a prompt response from the defence system thwarted the move. People were evacuated from areas around US military bases in the country. This is following warnings of a possible attack. Authorities are telling people to stay at home as much as possible.
In Dubai, the drone debris injured two people. The debris is believed to be from drones sent by Iran. Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports were also attacked around midnight on Saturday. One person was killed, and several others were injured in the attack at Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport.
The UAE claims that its air defence system destroyed most of the missiles sent by Iran. The debris from these is causing fires, including in residential areas.
