THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man and his son were electrocuted by a boar trap in Chenkikunnu, Kilimanoor, on Tuesday. Kochunni (58) and his son Akhil Kannan (32) died tragically in the incident. The duo were electrocuted by an electric fence installed to prevent wild boars from entering a tapioca farm. The illegally set electric fence was installed on the land owned by Narayanan Potty. The police's initial conclusion is that the accident occurred last night.

Gopalan, a farm worker, was the first to spot the two bodies this morning, around 10 am. After the police reached the spot and completed the inquest proceedings, the body was shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. The police registered a case against the owner of the land, as it was an illegally installed electric fence. Nagaroor police said that they will investigate further and also charge those who constructed the fence illegally.
