THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Communist Party of India decided to field Kaipamangalam MLA E. T. Taison Master from Paravur, considered the bastion of opposition leader V. D. Satheesan. The consensus was reached in the executive meeting of the party held today. The opposition leader, who first entered the assembly in 2001 from Kaipamangalam, is aiming for his sixth consecutive victory after the successful run in 2016 and 2021. This will be considered as the first real test for Satheesan against a strong leader who harbours a great connection with the populace.
Last time, Satheesan defeated CPI's M.T. Nixon by 21301 votes. Taison had defeated Congress candidate Shobha in Kaippamangalam.
