KOLLAM: A court has rejected a petition filed by Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar seeking to halt proceedings in the solar case. The order was issued by the Kottarakkara Judicial Magistrate Court. In his petition, Ganesh Kumar had requested the court to stay all proceedings in the case until the Assembly elections are over. The case relates to allegations that Ganesh Kumar conspired by adding additional pages to a letter written by the complainant in the solar case. The petition was filed by advocate Sudheer Jacob.

The lawyer filed the case alleging that four additional pages were inserted into a letter written from jail by the accused in the solar case to defame former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. In this case, the solar accused and Ganesh Kumar have been listed as the first and second accused.

Earlier, Feni Balakrishnan, who represented the solar case accused, told the court that Sharanya Manoj had prepared the letter containing sexual allegations against Oommen Chandy and other Congress leaders on the instructions of Ganesh Kumar and handed it to the accused. He also informed Judicial First Class Magistrate E. R. Arjun Raj that the accused later rewrote the letter in her own handwriting.
