ALAPPUZHA: A posse of CPM leaders visited estranged CPM leader G Sudhakaran at his residence after the leader announced that he would clarify his political stance on Thursday. The late-night visit from leaders is reported to be part of the final round of persuasion talks. The leaders came to visit Sudhakaran at 8 pm, while the emergency district secretariat was meeting.
It is reported that Sudhakaran did not soften his stance even after the discussion that lasted for more than twenty minutes. CPM central committee member C.S. Sujatha, state committee members K. Prasad, C.B. Chandrababu, district secretary R. Nassar, district secretariat members K. Raghavan, K.H. Babujan, G. Harishankar, A. Mahendran, K.R. Bhagirathan, A.M. Arif, Manu C. Pulikkal, K.G. Rajeshwari and others attended the discussion. The discussion was held in Sudhakaran's backyard. The leaders who left after the discussion responded that they were confident that Sudhakaran would not leave the party.
C.B. Chandrababu said that Sudhakaran had enough time left for renewing his party membership. Despite reports that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had tried to contact G. Sudhakaran by phone, the leader confirmed not receiving any call on his phone from the CM.
