High rank official likely to probe Karamana case, final decision tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A more detailed probe will be conducted on the mysterious deaths of the Koodam family members at Kaladyin Karamana. The case may be investigated by a high ranking official. Thiruvananthapuram DCP crime Muhammed Arif probing the case now recommended a detailed probe. A final decision will be taken on it tomorrow.

The deaths are still unclear. The current conclusion is that the deaths are natural. The investigating team will probe on the things happened to usurp the assets. The deaths of seven members of a family in Karamana that happened 20 years back are investigated following a complaint submitted by a relative.

The dead include Gopinathan Nair, his wife Sumukhi Amma, their children Jayabalakrishnan, Jayaprakash, Jayasree, and Gopinathan’s nephews Unnikrishnan Nair and Jayamadhavan.

The complaint of their relative Prasannakumari alleged the last heirs, Jayaprakash and Jayamadhavan, died under mysterious circumstances, following which the family’s ancestral property was grabbed by their caretaker. She accused him of illegally transferring the property to a trust.
