IFFI: Lijo Jose Pellissery bags yet another Silver Peacock award, 'Particles' wins Golden Peacock

PANAJI: As the 50th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) comes to its end on Friday, Malayalam film director Lijo Jose Pellissery created history by winning the Silver Peacock award for the second consecutive time. Lijo has won his second best director award through the film 'Jallikattu.' Earlier, the film had garnered praise from all jury members. The jury is headed by John bailey.

Particles, a french-swiss co-produced film directed by Blaise Harrison, won the Golden Peacock award for the best film. Brazilian actor Seu Jorge has been announced as the best actor for his performance in the film 'Marighella'. Marathi actress Usha Jadhav bagged the Silver Peacock award for the best actress for her performance in 'Mai Ghat'. In 2018, Lijo had bagged the Silver Peacock award for the best director at IFFI for the film 'Ee Ma Yau'. Actor Chemban Vinod Jose also won the award for the best actor for his performance in the film.

'Jallikattu', which was screened at various international film festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival, tells the story of chaos created in a village following the break free of a bull.
