Koodathai murder: Roy was murdered by adding cyanide in food and drinking water, charge sheet submitted

KOZHIKODE: The charge sheet in the sensational Koodathai murder case was submitted at the Thamarassery Munsif Magistrate Court earlier on Wednesday. The 1800-page charge sheet names 4 accused and 246 witnesses. The accused have been charged with murder, conspiracy, forgery, destruction of evidence, cheating and illegal possession of poison. The accused named in the charge sheet are Jolly, MS Mathew, Prajikumar and Manoj. It was SP KG Simon who led the investigation in the case.

As per the charge sheet, the first accused Jolly murdered her husband Roy Thomas by adding cyanide in his food and drinking water. SP Simon said that Jolly made her children go to bed early that day so that they do not consume the cyanide-laced food. After Roy's death, she told the children that their father died because of a heart attack. It has also been discovered that Jolly had forged several fake documents such as her B.Com, M.Com certificates, NIT identity card, UGC NET certificate while the investigation was going on. SP Simon added that the discovery of cyanide from Jolly's house also proved to be a crucial development in the investigation.
