First coronavirus case in UAE confirmed, health ministry on high alert

NEW DELHI: The first case of coronavirus has been confirmed in the UAE. It was confirmed on a family from Wuhan in China. The UAE health ministry has confirmed that the victims are presently under the observation of the medical team.

The health ministry has taken all steps to ensure the health and safety of all citizens of the country. The mechanisms necessary for the prevention of coronavirus are highly efficient and asked people not to panic.

132 people had died of the virus in the Chinese city of Wuhan. It is not clear how the family left Wuhan and made it all the way to the UAE. China shut down Wuhan’s airport and other transportation in the city last Thursday to stop the spread of the virus. Chinese Health Minister Ma Xiaowei has said that the coronavirus virus is likely to increase.

Officials are taking all the necessary precautions in accordance with the scientific recommendations, conditions and standards approved by the World Health Organization, the ministry said. The general health condition is not a cause for concern.

The viral outbreak that began in China has infected more than 6,000 people in the mainland and more than a dozen other countries.
