Student isolated in Thrissur Medical College tests negative for corona; can leave hospital if next test yield similar result

THRISSUR: Test results of the coronavirus infected student, who has been isolated in the Thrissur Medical College, has returned negative. As per the information, the student would be able to leave the hospital if the next test result of the student returns negative as well. The test was carried out in Alappuzha.

Meanwhile, two were arrested in Thrissur for propagating fake news regarding coronavirus outbreak. The two were identified as Bipeesh and Pradosh.

The first case of the deadly coronavirus was confirmed in Thrissur-a native of the district who is a student at Wuhan-the epicentre of the outbreak. A test at Pune Virology Institute returned positive results and the student who was in the isolation ward in Thrissur General Hospital was shifted to an isolation ward in Thrissur Medical College. Two other cases of coronavirus infection-one in Kasaragod and Alappuzha-was confirmed later.
