THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The vigilance Sunday conducted a raid at the coaching centers at Thampanoor in the capital city owned by the officials of the secretariat. The vigilance took into custody an official of the fire force who was giving training at one of the coaching centers. However, he was released after collecting required details from him.

At the same time, the vigilance also suspects that important documents have been shifted from the institutions. The fee book and the teachers’ salary registry are suspected to have shifted from the centers. Reports say that one of the coaching centre is in the name of the wife of Shiju, an official of the secretariat and the other one in the name of three friends of Ranjan.

Meantime, the coaching centers in the name of officials have violated rules, PSC chairman M K Zakir told a private channel. He said the government should take strict action and the PSC will also investigate this. The PSC has no connection with the coaching centers, he said.

The vigilance department had started a probe on the irregularities alleged in the PSC coaching centres of secretariat employees. A probe will be conducted on three centers in the city. PSC secretary had given a letter to K R Jyothilal, secretary of public administration department seeking a probe on the incident.

The letter was handed over to the vigilance. The letter alleged that public administration officials running the coaching centers have links with those working in confidential sections dealing with the PSC question papers.
