THRISSUR: A case has been registered against Dr Shinu Shyamalan on the complaint of spreading defamatory news in connection with corona. The action was taken following the complaint of Thrissur DMO on the allegation of spreading defaming news reports against health workers. The DMO had the other day asserted that she badly portrayed the health activists for publicity.

Dr Shinu had alleged via Facebook that action was not taken even after informing health department about a NRI patient who came to the clinic with symptoms of corona. The man from Qatar came to the clinic with high fever. Despite repeated requests to inform the health department, the patient refused to listen. She said that she later informed the health department but there occurred a delay in taking action. She alleged she was sacked by the management of the clinic for reporting the matter to police and informing the public about the incident through social media and through television.
