COVID-19: Around 200 Malayali medical students stranded in Manila due to travel ban

MANILA: Around 200 Malayali medical students are stranded in Manila, the capital of Philippines, after the authorities announced a travel ban to and from the city. Several MBBS students including those belonging to the University of Perpetual Help System have are facing the crisis as the government of India also cancelled its flights short after Philippines announced the travel ban.

Though most of the students had reserved tickets for an earlier day, their journey got postponed to March 20 after Air Asia announced a reschedule. The students are trying to reach out to the Indian authorities as the Philippines government has ordered foreign nationals to leave the country within 72 hours.
