THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Non-resident Keralites (NoRKs) returning home from abroad would have to be in mandatory quarantine in government controlled centres for 14 days. The centre has given strict directions to accommodate them for 14 days. Soon after this, the government re-considered about it at the cabinet convened here today. A final decision will be taken at the high level review meet.

The chief minister had yesterday mentioned that they need be in quarantine for only seven days and if there are no problems, they will be sent home. They should be in home quarantine for seven days. However, soon after that Union Minister V Muraleedharan clarified that centre’s directive is mandatory 14-day quarantine.
