-train

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A cabinet meeting here evaluated that the number of COVID-19 patients in the state could double in the coming days as the Malayalees from other states and abroad are now returning. As per the experts, number could go up to 2000 in the coming months.

To put a hold on the increasing number of COVID patients, the only way is to avoid contact with those having symptoms, CM Pinarayi Vijayan said. Keralites in other places are returning to their own place, which cannot be stopped. Those returning should stay at home. This should be strictly ensured. Lockdown cannot be continued for further long time. A vigil lifestyle coping with the COVID is the only way forward.

Trains from outside the state will be asked to stop at all district centers. People's details will be collected through NORKA. Those showing symptoms will be hospitalized. Action will be taken against those trying to cover up the disease. Alert panels have been formed on a local basis to find the third phase of COVID-19 in the state.
