THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health minister KK Shylaja has sought a report from the hospital superintendent regarding the incident where a person, who later tested positive for COVID-19, was sent home after sample collection. The minister said strong action will be taken against those who are culpable.

Though there are central guidelines that a person without symptoms can be sent home without admitting at hospital, Kerala doesn't do the same. Those giving throat swab samples will have to wait until the result. The minister said that the violation of norms will be investigated.

A person who returned from Kuwait was sent home after sample collection. The person, who is a native of Alamcode, showed symptoms of the disease during the screening at the airport and was referred to medical college hospital.
