Two Malayalis die of COVID-19 in Middle East

KOZHIKODE: Two Malayalis died of COVID-19 in the Middle East. 68-year-old Moithu Haji of Malikkandi in Changaroth Kadiyangad died in Qatar while Kurian P Varghese, of Puthanparambil in Thiruvalla Kallungal died in Dubai.

Moithu Haji was confirmed with coronavirus in March and after treatment, he tested negative for the virus. Then later due to pneumonia and high blood pressure, another test was conducted which turned out to be positive. He was a Congress worker. Wife: Haleema. Children: Ruksana, Rahmat, Raseena: In-laws: Hameed, Mohammed, Mohammed.

62-year-old Kurian P Varghese aka Shaji was under treatment at Rashid Hospital in Dubai for the past one month. He died on Saturday at around 10 pm. Though his wife Sali and younger son Shine tested positive for COVID-19, both recovered. His other children: Colin, Shansi. In-laws: Eljo, Vineeth. Funeral was held in Dubai.
