DUBAI: A Dubai based Keralite, who had filed a petition in the Supreme Court of India to repatriate his pregnant wife to Kerala, has passed away in Dubai. The deceased, Nithin Chandran (28), was a mechanical engineer working in Dubai.

It is learnt that Nithin passed away early in the morning on Monday after suffering from a heart attack. Nithin, an active member of the INCAS youth wing, was very much active in the COVID-19 prevention activities and blood donation camps in Dubai.

His wife, Athira, had filed a petition in the apex court seeking evacuation of pregnant women from foreign countries due to the COVID-19 crisis. Soon, the Vande Bharat Mission kicked off and Athira was able to board the first flight that evacuated Indians from Dubai to Kozhikode.
