NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court declined to intervene in the petition questioning the Kerala government’s order demanding COVID-19 negative certificates for passengers returning to the state in chartered flights.
The petitioner is a senior journalist who approached the Supreme Court bench against the Kerala government's decision. A bench presided by Justice Ashok Bhushan said the state and centre governments should be approached regarding the matter.
Meanwhile, Kerala HC sought the centre's stand regarding the mandatory COVID negative certificate. The court said the centre needs to inform whether COVID negative result is mandatory for expats returning through Vande Bharat mission. The case will be considered on Monday.
