THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Supreme Court will deliver its order in the Padmanabha Swamy Temple case on Monday. The order will be pronounced by the bench headed by Justice U U Lalith in a case filed against the takeover of the temple by the government.
The petition was filed by Travancore Royal family.
The high court order of January 31, 2011 had clarified that the Kerala government was the State administrator after the period of the last ruler of Travancore and there was no legal provision to hande over the administration of the temple to the successor of the last king. Therefore, the right of administration vested in the government.
It was against this high court order that the royal family had approached the Supreme Court. Last year March, the State government had informed the Supreme Court that it was ready to form a Guruvayur-model board for the temple administration.
